This new FDR-AX53 sensor by definition of its size and aspect now has larger pixels to record the 8mp 4K footage with better low light capability.

The new Zeiss Vario-Sonner T lens' optical zoom 20x and the camera has Sony's Balanced Optical Steadyshot featuring 5-axis image stabilization. The autofocus uses the same Fast Intelligent AF algorithms and is now 40% faster.
